The Province of Salta is situated in the Northwest of Argentina and it borders three countries: Chile, Bolivia,  Paraguay, and six Argentinian provinces: Jujuy, Formosa, Chaco, Santiago del Estero, Tucumán and Catamarca.

Salta stands out for its geographic and climatic heterogeneity, from the desert coldness of the Andes and the Puna to the subtropical heat of the jungle, with cool fertile valleys, mountains and rivers in between.

Salta 's traditional hospitality and provincial cordiality blend with its great cultural richness. Its heritage is vast and varied: ancient Diaguita-Calchaqui and Inca vestiges, the more recent Spanish colonial legacy and its active involvement in the independence wars. These features are still alive in the architecture of its villages, towns and in the city of Salta itself.
The first people to live in this area were aware of its outstanding natural beauty and called it "SAGTA", which in the Aymara language means "very beautiful one". Even today Salta is known as "the pretty one".

THE SCHOOL

The school is located right in downtown Salta at 443-445 Deán Funes Street. We are about five blocks from Paza 9 de Julio, the main square in our city.

We work in association with Elite - Center for English Studies. Center Director: María del Carmen Cadena.

HOW TO ARRIVE

TRANSPORTATION

BY PLANE:

Martín Miguel de Güemes International Airport - Aeropuerto Internacional de Salta "Martín Miguel de Güemes" is located 6 km (3.7 miles) southwest of the center of Salta, a city in the Salta Province of Argentina.

Also known as El Aybal Airport, it is the main hub of the Andes, served by Aerolíneas Argentinas, LAN Argentina and Andes Líneas Aéreas. It is the most used airport in Northern Argentina. The new terminal was built in 2000, by Aeropuertos Argentina 2000.

CULTURAL PROGRAMME

INTRODUCTION
On the first day of the course the school organizes a city-tour on which you will see the beautiful 9 of July Square, The Cathedral, The Monumento Guemes and many other attractions.

For those students taking a 20 hours course this activity is free of charge!
For those taking less hours consult prices. We will be pleased to arrange and book this acivity for you.

We provide our students with a cultural agenda for the week that may includes:

• Visits to museums
• Visit to San Bernardo Hill
• Visit to Villa San Lorenzo
• Outings to pubs and peñas at Balcarse Street

In this way you keep on practicing your Spanish.

OPTIONAL: "Extended cultural programme". NOT INCLUDED IN THE COURSE PRICE.  Please book in advance. There are special offers for our students!
